Feed My Starving Children
Tonight I traded out my crown for a hair net at Feed My Starving Children! I had such a great time filling and packaging food bags with my pageant sisters. It was great to volunteer for such an awesome organization, but also to be apart of a service project in my own community. It was fun talking to friends and community members about the Waseca Pageants, my platform, and how to get involved in the Miss America program. We were able to help contribute to this weekends goal of packaging 275,000 meals by filling bags with a scoop of vitamins, minerals and vegetarian flavoring as well as dehydrated vegetables, soy and rice. After 2 hours of work, we huddled around the boxes of meals and joined in prayer for those who received the meals and everyone involved in the service. It was such a humbling experience that I am so happy I could be involved.
