Reflecting on Miss MN 2020
Miss Minnesota week has, once again, officially come to a close, and I’m left grasping for words to sum up the week of a lifetime.
I never imagined I’d be the 1st Runner-Up to Miss Minnesota. I have watched girls I idolize come before me and get so close to reaching their dreams and wondered if that would ever be me. I’ve thought about the fact that, if I could go back in time and tell ‘outstanding teen me’ what happened last night, she would have never believed me.
I was honored to be a double preliminary winner along side our newly crowned Miss Minnesota Kathryn Kueppers. This is the first time in the history of the Minnesota competition that they have had 2 double preliminary winners!
I was awarded over $3,000 in scholarships, gained 23 new friends, and received an outpouring of love and support from friends and family. If you reached out to me at all this week, please know that your kindness meant the world to me.
In the end, it would have been incredible to have had my name called as the next Miss Minnesota. This is a dream I’ve had since I was 16 and have returned 3 times in hopes of obtaining. But with each trial comes so much internal growth and a deeps the crown's worth to me.
