Wow, was today busy! Team Waseca went from parade, to interview prep, to band competition all in one afternoon. I had so much fun riding in my first parade. It's not every day you get to put on a crown and gown and be pulled in your own horse drawn wagon! Keeping our balance when the horses came to a sudden halt was the only challenge of the day (heels were not the best choice). After the parade we went straight to Jen's office to get in some interview prep and lunch before the band competition. I love prepping for our interviews, because it's fun to hear what new questions our directors have come up with to try to stump us, and get advice for next time. After that, we headed to the Waseca Senior High School to work the water stand at the band competition. Being in marching band myself, it was nice to hear other local bands and see their color guards perform. And of course, there's never a dull moment hanging out with my sister queens and directors. As boring as filling water glasses may sound, we spent the afternoon laughing as we took our job extremely seriously. We ended the night with the award ceremony and a brilliant firework show. It was just another night that made me feel so blessed to be enjoying this experience and the people I get to spend it with.
